Scrip Program Overview

The scrip program is separate from our regular shopping certificate program. Like the shopping certificate program, you will have the chance to buy gift cards to a variety of stores, and those stores will donate a percentage of the total back to Ignite Young Adult Ministry for your account. Unlike the shopping certificate program, these cards will be available on a pre-order, pre-paid basis only. Only a very small amount of the more popular cards are carried in the St. Colette Youth Ministry Office; if you need a card quickly, please give them a call at 734-464-1677 to see if we have it in stock. If there is a card you would plan to order often, please let us know and we can keep that card in stock.

The program works as follows:

1. You fill out the order form and bring it to the St. Colette Youth Ministry Office with payment (cash or check only) by 8pm Monday night. Order forms can be downloaded from http://stcolette.net/ym/?page_id=43.
2. We compile all the orders and submit them electronically.
3. They process the order and mail the cards to us.
4. The cards will be available for you the following Monday night.
(NOTE – we are now able to have a 1 week turnaround time rather than 2 because we are able to order electronically.)

Some things to note:
• Because we have to mail the order in, wait for it to be processed and for the cards to be mailed to us, we are allowing 1 week for the time spent in delivery & processing. If the cards arrive earlier, we will contact you by email to let you know when you can pick them up from our office. So far, the cards typically arrive 5 days after we place the order.
• Gift cards can NOT be used to pay off credit card balances at those stores, in most circumstances. Two exceptions to this are JC Penney and Kohls. If you have a store credit card that you’d like to use scrip to pay off, please ask at the store if they allow this.

The stores that participate in this program offer a range of discounts for their certificates from 1-12%. On the order form, you will have a choice of ordering from 2 categories.
• The first category includes stores that offer a 5% or higher discount. If you order certificates from these stores, you will receive 5% of your purchase price as credit in your account, regardless of the discount the store offers. So if the store you are ordering from offers a 9% discount, 5% will go directly to your account, and the remaining 4% discount will go to the Ignite Young Adult Ministry Program as a whole. The reason for this is to offset shipping costs for this program, and so that this also functions as a fundraiser for Ignite Young Adult Ministry as a whole.
• The second category includes stores that offer a 4% or lower discount. If you order certificates from these stores, you will receive 2% credit in your account. We encourage you to buy certificates from these stores to help support the other programs & activities we sponsor.
